Rebecca Leser graduated from North Carolina State University in 2009 with a BA in communication (public relations concentration). She spent nearly a decade administering federal financial aid and grants for several private colleges and her local county government. Her involvement in Virginia politics began in 2017, when she attended her first Indivisible meeting.

As her desire to serve her community grew, Rebecca was elected Chairwoman for the York-Poquoson Democratic Committee in 2018, which she led for 2 years.

A run for the Virginia House of Delegates followed in 2019, and she then helped manage the campaign of her Democratic primary opponent.

Lean Left Strategies was launched in early 2021 and has since provided a la carte campaign services and consulting to Democratic candidates and elected officials. Rebecca has both local and state level campaign experience, an eye for detail, a heart for progressive causes, and a passion to help Democrats win.
